Q. How do I
publish my personal web page with other software packages?
A. Many
software packages offer an option to publish to a web site.
If you are using a software package, such as Front Page, then when
you publish your page you will need to specify several
things. If you have your own domain name, then you will
enter www.yourdomain.com
(replacing "yourdomain" with your domain name). If
you are publishing to your personal web space that comes with your
powwwer.net account, then you will enter www.powwwer.net.
You will also need to enter your user ID and password. You
can also use an FTP (File Transfer Protocol) program such as WSFTP,
or Cute FTP to transfer information to your web page. There
are many FTP programs that you can download from the
Internet. Please note that your main page should be named
"index.htm." When someone accesses your web page
address (www.powwwer.net/~youruserid,
or www.yourdomain.com) the
index.htm is the page that will be displayed.
